In seeking to support regional communities with resources and removing barriers for young people, the JK Foundation works in towns across the Midwest. Each town is different and so are the programs and activities JKF runs.

Mullewa

The JK Foundation has supported partner agencies in Mullewa as well as run the Rising Saints workshop series to support the Mullewa FC U16s to improve well-being and grow as footballers and men.

We are based in and work with the school to run a School Engagement program. An embedded Youth Worker is in the school to support male students and our team runs a range of community activities particularly in school holidays, supporting young people and the community in an integrated way.

Martin Seelander is the JKF Coordinator and Youth Worker in Mullewa.

Our Mullewa work is proudly supported by Telethon and 29 Metals  in partnership with

Kalbarri

Realising the gap in youth services in Kalbarri, we have supported the community to support and resource young people. Working with the Kalbarri Development Association and the Kalbarri Sport and Recreation Association, the Foundation employs a part-time Youth and Programs Worker in Kalbarri which is the key community youth work role in town. This person connects with young people in formal and informal settings and runs after-school, school holiday and other activities as part of a range of youth services.

Mikayla Draper is the JKF Youth and Programs Worker in Kalbarri.

Our work in Kalbarri is a partnership with the Kalbarri Development Association

Northampton

The Foundation runs a Youth Centre in the Nagel Centre of the Old Convent and is developing a youth service for the young people of Northampton. Staff also run other after school and holiday activities. Sport, art, fun and trips build a sense of community and connection among Northampton young people is all part of it and we support their well-being through mentoring and workshops and we hope to bring Rock Solid to the school.

We have previously supported the NOSCI community basketball program and the Northampton Community Basketball competition and continue to work alongside and support the school and NOSCI. And of course the Rams are close to our hearts!

Katie Hasleby is heading up our work in Northampton.

Our work in Northampton is a partnership with the Shire of Northampton and the Catholic Diocese of Geraldton

Morawa

The JK Foundation will begin work in Morawa in February 2026. We will partner with the school to run a School Engagement program, supporting male students to achieve their best. Our team of embedded Youth Workers will be in the Morawa community to partner with the Shire and run a range of community activities particularly in school holidays, supporting young people and the community in an integrated way.

Geraldton

With more organisations and resources in Geraldton, the JKF has focused on supporting partners the West Coast Eagles, GSAC, PCYC and the City of Greater Geraldton, while running the Summer Footy program in February and March and other seminars and academies that support young athletes and help them shine. School programs are in development and a new referral-based sporting youth program is planned for October and summer. Our Program Coordinator runs these activities while supporting staff and programs in our other towns.

The Dare 2 Lead program supporting young men at-risk is also a key part of our work in Geraldton

Dare 2 Lead Rangeway will commence in February 2026.

In future, we hope to bring JKF activities to Dongara, Shark Bay/Denham, Meekatharra and Carnarvon and to support partners in Mt Magnet, Yalgoo and Cue.
