JKF launch new Northampton Youth Service

After a long period of linking with existing activities and consultation with various community groups and the young people of Northampton, the JK Foundation is very excited to launch a new Youth Service for the town. Beginning with some after-school sporting activities in term 4, a full program of youth activities will run in the January school holidays. This will incorporate trips to Geraldton and the beach, water wars, art and movies and will meet an ongoing need for things for young people to do in Northampton.

Ongoing investigation and discussion is happening to open a Youth Hangout Space in 2026 and Katie Hasleby and other Youth workers will be connecting with young people through activities, at the skate park and around town.

JKF Operations Manager, Kent Morgan said "The Foundation's mission is to support young people in the Midwest and to identify barriers and gaps and increase resources in that space. It has become clear that there is a lack of programs, activities and resources for young people in Northampton and I am so excited that we have been able to release some resource to begin to serve young people in this way. It's just a start and as we build partnerships and raise further funding, we are really looking forward to what can grow in 2026."
